Voting is now open and will run through midnight Saturday for this week’s Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week.
Here are the nominees:
Valerie Combs, Nashville: The senior was 6-8 with 2 home runs and a double as the Hornettes split a pair of games.
Sarah Cook, Murphysboro: The junior was 5-7 with 2 doubles, 3 RBIs, 4 runs scored, and 2 stolen bases in a pair of wins for the Lady Red Devils.
Will Graham, Centralia: The senior was 4-11 with 2 doubles, a home run, 6 RBIs, and a stolen base helping the Orphans go 2-1 for the week.
Brandon Menser, Waltonville/S-V: The sophomore allowed 1 run on 7 hits while striking out 24 in 13.2 innings, including a 3-hit shutout of Elverado. Menser was also 2-3 with an RBI in a win over Fairfield.
Hayley Pasquino, ZRC: The junior was 2-0 in the circle allowing 4 runs on 8 hits while striking out 30 in 13 innings, including a no-hitter against Mt. Vernon. Pasquino was 3-7 at the plate with 3 RBIs.
Kamaree Pollard, Mt. Vernon: The sophomore won 3 individual events and was part of a winning relay at the Salem Invitational. Pollard won the triple jump (10.74m), 100 meters (12.5), 200 meters (25.75), and the 4×100 relay.
Cole Sampson/Zac Faulkner, Vienna: The bass fishing duo won the Trico Tournament and placed second in the Red Bud Tournament. Sampson (JR) and Faulkner (SR) have placed in 3 of the 4 tournaments they have fished this season.
