Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week nominees

Voting is now open and will run through midnight Saturday for this week’s Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Player of the Week.

Here are the nominees:
Emma Behrman, Nashville: The freshman won the triple jump at the Chester Open, setting a school record with a jump of 35’7.25″.

Peyton Bittle, Carterville: The senior was 7-14 with a double, 2 home runs, and 8 RBI helping the Lions go 4-0 for the week. Bittle also threw a complete game, 1-hit shutout while striking out 7.

Owen Cornett, Du Quoin: The senior was 9-17 with 4 doubles, 2 home runs, 6 RBI, and 9 runs scored helping the Indians go 5-0 for the week.

Desirae Dockery, Hamilton Co.: The junior won the long jump at the Carterville Open, setting a school record with a jump of 17’1″.

Gabe Luttinen, Mt. Vernon: The senior was 6-11 with 4 doubles and 7 RBI helping the Rams go 3-1 for the week.

Braelyn Miller, Benton: The senior was 2-0 with a 0.58 ERA, striking out 19 while walking 2. At the plate, Miller was 6-9 with 4 walks, 11 stolen bases, and 9 runs scored.

Ali Rice, Fairfield: The freshman was 9-11 with 2 home runs and 14 RBI. In the circle, Rice did not allow a run or a hit in 5 innings pitched, striking out 14.

Kenzie Seddon, Waltonville/Sesser-Valier: The junior was 13-25 with 4 doubles, 2 home runs, and 16 RBI helping the Lady Spartans go 4-2 for the week. Seddon was 7-7 with a homer and 10 RBI in a doubleheader sweep of Elverado.
