Rams of the Week: Mt. Vernon Rams Bowling

The Mt. Vernon Rams Bowlers are this week’s Rams of the Week after capturing the 2025 Alton Invitational Tournament on Monday, December 22.

The Rams battled from behind after the team qualifier, sitting third with a 3304 total, 89 pins back of Columbia and 144 behind Mascoutah. Mt. Vernon flipped the script in the Baker Team Boys Gold Division, where the Rams delivered when it mattered most.

The group rolled Baker series of 466, 456, 383, 411, 404, and 414, pushing the Rams to 5838 scratch pins. With a +120 bonus, Mt. Vernon finished with a final score of 5958, edging out Columbia, which placed second at 5887 (including a +90 bonus).

Individually, Raymond Andrews posted a 748 series, finishing second overall, just behind Mascoutah’s Marcellus Goodknecht (779). Travin Elliott narrowly missed the top 3, finishing fourth with a 726, just two pins shy.
