Junior Tyson Frick delivered the defining moment of the tournament and earned Tony Wielt State Farm Showcase Impact Player honors after a clutch performance in the championship of the Duster Thomas Hoops Classic.
Frick scored what proved to be the game winner with a spinning layup as the Woodlawn Cardinals edged the Sparta Bulldogs 48–46 on Tuesday, December 30, in Pinckneyville.
The 6’5” junior was flawless offensively going 6-for-6 from the field, finishing with 12 points while adding 6 rebounds.
Frick’s efficiency, poise under pressure, and late-game heroics helped secure the tournament championship and earned him a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
