Jacob Marlow – Sophomore – Webber Trojans Basketball

Sophomore Jacob Marlow delivered a spark when the Webber Trojans needed it most, turning in a standout performance in a challenging road environment to earn this week’s Tony Wielt State Farm / WMIX Sports Showcase Impact Player honors.

Marlow poured in 22 points, including 15 in the first half, helping lead the Trojans to an impressive 88-78 road victory over Goreville. Known as one of the toughest places to play in Class 1A basketball, Goreville’s passionate fanbase and energetic home crowd often create a difficult atmosphere for visiting teams. Marlow helped silence that momentum early.

After missing a game due to injury, Marlow returned with energy and confidence, immediately setting the tone for Webber. His highlight moment came early in the contest when he electrified the Trojan bench and fans with a powerful dunk that helped fuel Webber’s fast start.

Marlow continues to be a key offensive contributor for the Trojans, currently standing as one of three Webber players averaging double figures per game and one of two members of the Marlow family reaching that milestone this season. His ability to score, bring intensity, and step up in big moments has made him an important part of Webber’s success.
