Nathaniel Marlow – Webber Trojans
Senior Nathaniel Marlow continued to add to one of the greatest scoring careers in Illinois high school basketball history.
Marlow poured in 39 points to lead the Webber Trojans to a 72-36 IHSA Regional Semifinal win over Wayne City on February 25 at Altamont. The Trojan star was dominant offensively, finishing 10-for-15 from two-point range and 6-for-16 from three, while also adding five rebounds in the victory.
Just two nights later in the IHSA Regional Championship, Marlow delivered another spectacular performance with 41 points in Webber’s 68-58 loss to Altamont on February 27. Although the Trojans fell short of the regional title, Marlow’s scoring explosion capped a historic career defined not only by his ability but also his character.
Marlow finishes his career with 3,272 points, which ranks 2nd all-time in IHSA boys basketball history, trailing only Charles “Chico” Vaughn (3,358) by 86 points.
His remarkable scoring run follows the milestone moment earlier this season when Marlow surpassed 3,000 career points, becoming just the 7th male in IHSA history to reach that mark.
From milestone moments to postseason performances, Marlow consistently delivered for the Trojans and leaves Webber with one of the most decorated offensive careers the state has ever seen.
