The Mt. Vernon Rams Bowling team turned in a dominant performance at Kingpin Lanes in Springfield on Saturday, November 15, capturing the 2025 Lecuyer Boys Invitational Championship by nearly 200 pins over runner-up and defending State Champion Harrisburg. More than 30 teams competed in the prestigious event, including powerhouse programs like Salem—who has combined with Harrisburg to win the last three IHSA state titles—and perennial contender O’Fallon.
According to TournamentBowl.com, Brody Elliott delivered a standout day, finishing second overall with an impressive 1,398 series (728 in the qualifier and 670 in Gold Division play). Elliott narrowly missed perfection, rolling a 297 in Game 3 of the Gold Division, trailing only Christ Our Rock Lutheran’s Jaxon Cushman (1,481 series).
Rams Bowling Coach Brandon “B Mac” McPherson praised his team’s chemistry and resilience:
“To say I’m proud is an understatement. These boys are the definition of a TEAM. From constantly helping each other read ball reactions and make the proper adjustments to picking each other up when they fall down. This team is special.”
Congratulations to Rams Bowling, your Josh Finley Country Financial Ram of the Week from WMIX Sports!
