WMIX Sports is proud to introduce our first-ever Tony Wielt State Farm Showcase Impact Players, recognizing top performers from The Showcase — our WMIX Sports Basketball Showcase coverage of Waltonville, Wayne City, Webber, Woodlawn, and Sesser-Valier.
This week’s inaugural honorees are Sophomore Rylie Hockett and Junior Andrea Kibler of the Woodlawn Lady Cardinals, who were each named to the All-Tournament Team at the Du Quoin Tournament after standout performances throughout the week.
Hockett and Kibler opened Showcase coverage in impressive fashion, leading Woodlawn to a 50–44 victory over Sesser-Valier/Waltonville in our season’s first broadcast. Kibler stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points and 6 steals, while Hockett added 12 points and 5 rebounds, setting the tone for a strong tournament run.
Despite battling injuries to starters Ashtyn Griffin (2025 MTC All-Tournament) and Sophia Skinner (reigning MTC Tournament MVP), the duo stepped up in a major way to push the Lady Cardinals to a third-place finish.
Across the four-game tournament:
-
Andrea Kibler: 46 points, 14 steals
-
Rylie Hockett: 66 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists
