Sophomore guard LaNiyah Shelby is this week’s Josh Finley Country Financial / WMIX Sports Ram of the Week after a dominant performance at the Carbondale MidWinter Tournament, where she helped lead the Lady Rams to a third-place finish and earned All-Tournament Team honors.

Shelby was electric from start to finish. In the tournament opener, she poured in 33 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and added 5 steals in a convincing 63–35 win over Carterville. She followed that up with 31 points and 3 steals in a hard-fought 71–70 semifinal loss to Marion.

In the third-place game, Shelby closed the tournament in style, scoring 27 points while adding 3 assists and 4 steals in a 65–43 victory over Pinckneyville.

Across three games, Shelby showcased her scoring ability, defensive pressure, and all-around impact—making her a deserving Ram of the Week.
