Freshman Annabelle “Belle” Gunter answered that call in a big way Thursday night at Cobden in the IHSA Class 1A Regional Championship. The Lady Devils rolled to a 61-25 victory over Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton to claim the regional title — and Gunter provided a key spark off the bench.

With SVW looking to build separation before halftime, Gunter drilled a huge first-half three-pointer that helped the Lady Devils extend their lead to 31-17 at the break. The momentum carried straight into the second half.

Gunter finished with 8 strong points off the bench — a critical contribution in championship play — showcasing poise beyond her years in one of the biggest games of the season.
