Carterville led 21-17 at the half and immediately pushed that lead to nine with a 7-2 run to open the third.

Benton tried to hang around with three-point shooting. The Rangerettes hit four threes in the third, three of those came from Addisyn Miller. Miller led Benton with 14.

Carterville extended its lead to as many as 16 late in the third and cruised to the win. Abbey Crain led the Lions with 16. Alecia Doyle added 15, and SIU signee Jeniah Thompson tallied 12.

The Lions improve to 15-1. The Rangerettes fall to 11-8.
