COBDEN — The Cobden Appleknockers closed their fall baseball season with an 11-1 win in five innings over Pope County.

Cobden jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, then blew it open by plating seven runs in the fourth. The Pirates picked up a run in the top of the fifth on a two-out, bases loaded walk to temporarily extend the game. The Appleknockers ended it in the bottom of the fifth though when John Fuhrhop scored on a throwing error.

After starting the fall 0-4, Cobden won its final six games to finish 6-4.
