CARBONDALE — The Massac County Lady Patriots added another chapter to their incredible postseason history by winning the Carbondale 1A Girls Golf Regional, their sixth straight regional championship. The Lady Patriots beat ZRC by 21 strokes to capture their 17 regional title in the last 18 years. ZRC also advances to Monday’s Salem Sectional.

Massac County senior Lily Conkle led the way. Conkle was the only golfer to shoot in the 70s on the day. She carded a 4-over 76 to make it back to back regional medalist honors. Teammate McKinnley Korte was second with an 84. Elise Coakley and Alexis Frazine also finished in the top ten.

ZRC put three in the top ten led by Chelsea Young’s third place finish. Savannah Saeger tied for fourth, and Allie Anderson was ninth.

Carbondale’s Annie Shin, Anna-Jonesboro’s Marlee Smith, Pinckneyville’s Bre Schandl, along with Benton teammates Alyssa Dawson and Olivia Drew all advanced as individuals.
