The Nashville Hornettes edged out the Centralia Annies for the top spot in the preseason Section618.com Deep South Volleyball Coaches’ Poll. The Annies actually collected two more first place votes, but the Hornettes had higher marks on more ballots.

Fairfield and Pinckneyville also received first place votes. The Lady Mules and Lady Panthers are third and fourth respectively with Herrin rounding out the top five.

Carterville, Woodlawn, Du Quoin, Hamilton County, and NCOE round out the top 10 with Massac County, Carmi-White County, Chester, Murphysboro, and Marion also receiving votes.
