CARTERVILLE — It’s always good to have options, and Carterville senior Alecia Doyle had plenty of them.

That happens when you average 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals a game like Doyle did last year as a junior. The stat sheet stuffer had several offers on the table. She made her decision official Wednesday, signing with Southeast Missouri State.

Doyle says she clicked with the Redhawks’ coaches and players, and that it felt like a second home.

Doyle hopes to be able to finish up her associate degree by the time she graduates high school. She plans to major in biology with an eye toward physical therapy in the future.

Doyle’s senior season will tip off Tuesday night at home against West Frankfort.
