HARRISBURG — It will be Carterville and Vienna Friday night for the Harrisburg 2A Regional championship after both teams took care of their semifinals.

Caden Hawkins scored 25 points as the Lions beat Eldorado 58-48 in the first semi. The Lions built a 16-point fourth quarter lead, only to watch Eldorado close within six in the final 2:00, but Carterville hit enough free throws to seal the deal. Parker Price led the Eagles with 24.

Vienna led 19-6 after one quarter and 33-19 at the half. The Eagles extended that lead to as many as 20 in the third quarter, but the Bulldogs mounted a run. Carmi-White County got as close as 9 at 52-43 in the fourth quarter, but the Eagles scored 18 of the game’s final 22 points to put it away.

Dayton Nichols led four Eagles in double figures with 20 points. Owen Treat added 18, Charlie King 13, and Buddy Clay 12. Bryce Conner led the Bulldogs with 17. Mitchel Edwards added 11.
