Congratulations to this week’s WMIX Sports/Josh Finley Country Financial Ram of the Week, Tyler Kemp! The senior IF/OF had a good week at the dish slashing .556/.667/.556 in a 2-1 week for Mt. Vernon Rams Baseball. Kemp was 3-for-4 in a tough 4-2 loss to Mascoutah to start the week on Monday, May 15, and followed that up with 2-for-5 efforts with 2 runs scored in a 10-0 shutout of Olney and 1-0 extra inning win over Highland to close the regular season. Kemp’s OPS for the week was a robust 1.223 with a 1.000 field percentage for the week. While it wasn’t a factor in the decision for ROTW, Kemp added a 1-3 efford with 2 runs and 3 RBI in a 14-4 regional semifinal win over Carbondale on Weds., May 24. Way to go, Tyler!
