Josh Finley Country Financial/WMIX Sports Ram of the Week: Ty Pierce

Mt. Vernon senior Ty Pierce earns this week’s Josh Finley Country Financial/WMIX Sports Ram of the Week after a dominant two-game stretch against Carbondale.

Pierce powered the Rams to back-to-back wins, including an 11-1 victory on April 14 and a 10-0 win on April 16, producing at the plate in nearly every opportunity. Over the two games, Pierce went 4-for-8, driving in 7 runs while scoring twice. He added a double and crushed 2 home runs, finishing the week with 10 total bases and an impressive 1.750 OPS.

In the April 14 win, Pierce delivered one of his most impactful performances of the season, tallying 5 RBI and a home run to help fuel the Rams’ offensive explosion. He followed that up with another multi-hit game on the road, continuing to be a consistent run producer in the middle of the lineup.
