Altamont hangs on to beat Sesser-Valier

SESSER — The Altamont Indians are into the semifinals at the 39th Sesser-Valier Holiday Tournament after beating the host Red Devils 47-41 in the quarterfinals.

The Indians led by 11 after three quarter and extended that lead to as many as 14 in the fourth, but the Red Devils rallied.

Sesser-Valier got as close as three in the final minute, but the Indians made enough free throws to seal it.

Altamont will face Christopher Saturday night at 8:00 in the second semifinal. Top-seeded Goreville will meet Marissa-Coulterville at 1:30.
