Experienced Rangers ready to roll

BENTON — The Benton Rangers lost several key pieces from last season’s SIRR Ohio championship team, but with 18 seniors, this year’s squad is prepared to continue those winning ways.

Benton finished 5-1 in the spring, with the lone loss coming at Nashville.

The Rangers are led senior quarterback Keegan Glover, who earned All-State honors in the spring, when he completed better than two-thirds of his passes for more than 1600 yards. Glover threw 22 touchdowns and ran for eight more scores.

Benton head coach Justin Groves says he’s not only excited about his big group of seniors, but also his younger players who are competing for playing time.

The Rangers will open their season Friday, August 27 at home against Carterville.
