FLORA – The Flora Wolves took the lead early in the fourth quarter then held off Eldorado 20-16 Friday night to remain unbeaten on the season.

Trailing 16-14 with less than 10 minutes to play, Beau Propes scored from two yards out for what turned out to be the game-winning score.

Propes finished with 99 yards rushing on the night. John McGee led Flora with 117 yards on the ground, as the Eagles’ defense held Wolves’ senior quarterback Malachi Tolliver to 52 yards rushing, nearly 100 yards below his season average.

Flora jumped out to a 14-0 lead, but Eldorado quarterback Parker Price led the rally. Price rushed for 164 yards on 13 carries, including a 16-yard touchdown run late in the first half to pull the Eagles within 14-8 at half.

Price was 4-8 for 107 yards through the air, including a 59-yard connection with Josh Owens in the third quarter to set up another Eagles’ touchdown. That TD and 2-point conversion gave Eldorado its first lead of the season, 16-14. Owens hauled in all four of Price’s completions, accounting for all 107 receiving yards.

Eldorado (0-3) will host Vienna/Goreville next Friday. Flora (3-0) will visit Fairfield next Saturday.
